Joruri is a music that a narrator, Tayu tells a story along with an accompaniment of futozao-shamisen which is the largest type of shamisen. Tayu narrates not only lines, but also express even scenes and character's feelings and behavior.
Lyrics is more important than rhythm or melody. Expressing one's feeling is taken more serious than telling the story. Joruri has no music score, and it is regerded as the only music which isn't influenced by western music.
Many Tayu and shamisen players of all ages will be gathered from Tokushima, Hyogo and Osaka, and they will perform different kinds of Joruri for this competition.
※Regular program "Keisei Awa no Naruto Act. pilgrimage song" will be performed from 11am and from 2pm as usual.
